Challenges for LGBT

Life in this world is full of challenges. More so for LGBT...

The following are extra challenges that LGBT have to go through in their daily lives:

Managing AoM

AoM is an extremely powerful desire.

There are many limitations on how this desire can be fulfilled:

  • Practical difficulties in finding a mate...

  • Civil / Criminal laws, such as rape...

  • Torah Law (more on this later).

Modern society (Western World) has presented us with further challenges. It fosters an immodest culture that boasts the desire for AoM in a way that's conducive to breaching the above monetioned limitations:

  • High exposure to immodest content on the screen.

  • High exposure to immodesty in the street.

  • High physical contact with the oppsoite sex, often also immodestly dressed.

So it ain't easy for anyone to manage the desire of AoM, hetrosexuals included.

Now man was given an outlet for this desire. Some means of managing and containing it. To get married!

If LGBT are not to SSM, they have no outlet for this powerful desire...

Long-running Rejection

As mentioned earlier, LGBT have seen centuries of institutional prejudice, rejection and bullying by all levels of society.

That has resulted in a historical scar for them.

LGBT are therefore very sensitive when it comes to homophobia. Any hint of it may still haunt them.

Conflict with Society

The general society is still hetrosexual, despite how supportive it may be toward LGBT.

This means common concepts such as father, mother, and family are at odds with LGBT.

(The Agenda is trying to change this though...)

NOTES AND REFERENCES

The purpose of marriage (one of) is to be able to manage the desire of AoM. Talmud Kiddushin 29b. Rambam (his Mishne Torah) Laws of Torah Study 1:5. Raavad (Rabbi Avraham Ben David) in his book "Baalei Nefesh" describing the fourth, lowest purpose of AoM.
